Paul W. Hiss, M.D. is the chief surgeon at Eye Care Associates of Nevada in all Northern Nevada locations. He works closely with the local doctors listed to ensure the best possible pre- and post-operative care for his patients.

Dr. Hiss provides patients with precise, skilled and successful surgical treatment. A dedication to technological innovation and the desire to provide the best care possible are the driving forces behind his skills. Dr Hiss completed medical training at the University of California, San Diego, followed by an ophthalmology residency at the world-renowned Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. He then spent two postgraduate years with Florida Eye Care of Melbourne, gaining expertise in the most recent developments in cataract/implant, refractive and laser surgery. He maintains his position as associate clinical professor with the University of Nevada School of Medicine. As a member of SEE International, he has participated in several volunteer surgical expeditions around the world, returning sight to those blinded by cataracts.

Dr. Hiss specializes in the surgical and medical treatment of eye diseases, and has performed over 100,000 highly specialized procedures including Cataract Surgery, LASIK, and PRK. He is also a published author with articles in Ophthalmic Pediatric Genetics and Ophthalmology.

Dr. Hiss resides in Reno with his daughter, Dominique. Together, they love to travel and spend summer weekends wake surfing. Dr. Hiss has been a pilot for many years and flies monthly to smaller Northern Nevada communities to perform surgery. He is also passionate about music and plays guitar in his local band.
